2.1 Million Afghan Refugees Live in 71 Countries - UNHCR

According to a new report released today by the UN's refugee agency, UNHCR, Afghanistan continues to be the leading source country of refugees. At the end of 2006, there were 2.1 million Afghan refugees in 71 asylum countries representing 21 percent of the world’s refugee population, the report states.
