EXCERPT: "Two people were killed and 25 injured when a bomb went off near the packed shrine of Hazrat Haider Sayeen in Badami Bagh late Thursday night, triggering a stampede that injured five more, rescue workers and eyewitnesses said. The bomb disposal squad said 1.5kg explosives were used in the device placed near the main entrance of the shrine. Police sources said the terrorists used ball bearings in the device to cause maximum casualties. Hospital sources said the condition of five of the injured was critical. Emergency was declared in all public hospitals in the city. According to police, a large number of people had thronged the shrine for the annual Urs when the bomb went off. Police rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Dozens of ambulances and rescue workers arriving at the scene shifted the injured to Nawaz Sharif and Mayo hospitals."
